Description
This material is part of the Early Childhood Montessori language arts curriculum. Children practice their ability to recognize and classify kinds of a specific object or concept in this exercise. This material assists children in understanding that objects and concepts can be something specific on their own, but also belong to a larger whole. Understanding the concepts inherent in their surroundings allows children to develop a functional relationship to their environment. Working with this material also supports the development of children’s higher-order reasoning skills. The material consists of six categories (Roots, Flowers, Leaves, Seeds, Stems, Fruits) with five pictures of a plant’s part per category.
