Description
This material is the first part of the Blue Reading Series, a Montessori literacy program. The Blue Series has been first introduced in the primary level and continues to be revisited to support consonant blends reading and writing. The Blue Reading Series materials contain words with consonant blends, beginning of words and short vowels (bl-, br-, cl-, cr-, dr-, fl-, fr, gl-, gr-, pl-, pr-, sc-, sk-, sl-, sm-, sn-, sp-, st-, sw-, tr-, tw-), and consonant blends, ending of words and short vowels (-ct, -ft, -ld, -lk, -lm, -lp, -lt, -mp, -nd, -nk, -pt, -sk, -sp, -st, -lch, -tch, -nch.) In this exercise, children use the Moveable Alphabet to encode words depicted on the picture cards.
The five presentations for writing and reading are:
