Description
This material is part of the Early Childhood Montessori language arts curriculum. The Montessori approach to early literacy consists of four series of incremental materials: The Pink Series, The Lilac Series, The Blue Series, and the Green Series. The Pink Series contains consonant-vowel-consonant words with short vowels (a-e-i-o-u.) “Phonic Three-Part Cards” is part of the Pink Series.
The Pink series is introduced through the 6 following incremental and concurrent steps:
1. Phonic Three-Part Cards
2. Initial Sounds Memory Cards
3. Phonic Picture Cards (or objects) with Moveable Alphabet
4. Phonic Picture Cards and CVC Word Cards
5. Phonic Booklets with Picture and Word Cards
6. Phonic Word Lists with CVC Words
“Phonic Three-Part Cards” allows nonreader children to match pictures and word cards to control cards and become familiar with the relationship between objects and words.
