Description
This material is part of the Elementary Montessori history curriculum. The Clock of Eons aids children in developing a notion of time. It is a simplified circular timeline based on the Geologic Time Scale. The Clock of Eons covers a span of 4,600,000,000 years. Each segment on the clock corresponds to an eon (Hadean, Archean, Proterozoic, Phanerozoic) or an era (Paleozoic, Mesozoic, Cenozoic). The material consists of 51 three-part cards, two booklets, and four wallcharts. The nomenclature cards contain a description, a label, and a picture card for matching purposes. The wallcharts represent all the parts together. The booklets serve as control for error for the nomenclature matching work. In addition, the material contains a 12″ x 18″ poster, a 12″ x 12″ puzzle chart and pieces (uncut), a 31″ x 1.5″ Eons and Eras strip (when assembled), and a 8.5″ x 11″ Black outlined master.
