Description
This material is the second part of the Blue Reading Series, a Montessori literacy program. The Blue Series has been first introduced in the primary level and continues to be revisited to support consonant blends reading and writing. The Blue Reading Series materials contain words with consonant blends, beginning of words and short vowels (bl-, br-, cl-, cr-, dr-, fl-, fr, gl-, gr-, pl-, pr-, sc-, sk-, sl-, sm-, sn-, sp-, st-, sw-, tr-, tw-), and consonant blends, ending of words and short vowels (-ct, -ft, -ld, -lk, -lm, -lp, -lt, -mp, -nd, -nk, -pt, -sk, -sp, -st, -lch, -tch, -nch.) In this exercise, children match pictures with word labels.
The five presentations for writing and reading are:
1. Moveable Alphabet with objects or pictures
2. Word labels with pictures
3. Sentence labels with pictures
4. Booklets
5. Word Lists
