Description

This material is part of the Elementary Montessori language arts curriculum. The introduction to reading is divided into four series. The fourth series is the Green Series, which is reduced to sixteen (16) graphemes for the Early Childhood program: /ch/, /sh/, /th/, /ai/, /ee/, /ie/, /oa/, /ar/, /er/, /or/, /oy/, /ue/, /ue/, /ou/, /au/, /oo/, and /qu/.
The Green series is sequenced in the following manner:
1. Phonogram Pictures: Children encode phonogram words using the Moveable Alphabet and pictures.
2. Phonogram Pictures Cards with Words Labels: Children identify matching pairs of phonogram pictures and word labels.
3. Phonogram Word Lists: Children develop fluency without pictures reading word lists.
