Description

This Money curriculum is based upon the classic Montessori math materials for linear counting and base ten. The first activity introduces cents using the Numerical Robs with tiles. The second activity introduces the “cent” symbol and its value. Children organize a matrix with tiles from 1¢ to 100¢ similar to the One Hundred Board. The third introduces the decimal form as a currency notation. Children organize a matrix with tiles from .1 to .100 similar to the One Hundred Board. The fourth activity consists of 10 columns in which children organize pennies from 1 to 10 similar to the Counters and Cutouts.
