Description
This material is part of the Chemistry curriculum for elementary. Atoms are the building blocks of life and are necessary components to understand broader science. Parts of the Atom describe the structure of an atom: atom, nucleus, proton, neutron, and electron. Other aspects of the atoms are described: elements, isotopes, ions, atomic number, atomic weight, atomic mass, and electron number. The material consists of 36 three-part cards, three booklets, and three wallcharts. The three-part nomenclature cards introduce children to the various characteristics of an atom. The nomenclature cards contain a description, a label, and a picture card for matching purposes. The three wallcharts represent all the parts together. The booklets serve as control for error for the nomenclature matching work.
