Geography – Parts of the Volcano

This material is part of the Montessori Geology curriculum. Geology is the study of the earth; the science that examines the earth, its form and composition, and the change which it has undergone and is undergoing. Different aspects of the earth are studied as volcanology. Volcanology study provides information to explain the earth’s surface formation, and atmospheric composition. Parts of the Volcano consists of 51 three-part cards depicting the following parts of a volcano: volcano, magma, magma chamber, central conduit, central vent, side conduits, side vent, eruption, gas, volcanic ash, volcanic dust, lava, rock fragments, volcanic bomb, lava layer, tephra layer, and composite volcano.
