Word Study Set #2

$27.00

Description

This material is a staple of the Montessori language curriculum for the elementary level. Children survey an array of label cards that provide experience with matching antonyms, synonyms, homophones and homographs. Expanding language through learning similar or opposite words to other words prepares children to become better readers and writers. Children who explicitly learn to identify and manipulate sophisticated language are invited to use higher cognitive functions, which will enhance their literacy skills. This material is introduced through a series of Key Experiences provided in the corresponding manual Language Arts Volume 3 Elementary Level I. Word Study Set #2 is stored in a storage solution and is available to children during their entire carrer in the elementary classroom. It is revisited each year between ages 6-9 and used in parallel to Set #3 and Set #4. Most of the material is practiced by children independently as the Key Experiences are introduced. The material consists of 1700+ cards with 60 activities.
