Word Study Set #3

$17.00

Description

This material is a staple of the Montessori language curriculum for the elementary level. Children survey an array of label cards that provide experience with working on mechanics of writing such as capitalization, periods, apostrophes, commas, and quotations. By exploring and working with the mechanics of writing of the English language, children become better readers and writers. Children who explicitly learn to identify and manipulate the mechanics of writing are invited to use higher cognitive functions, which will enhance their literacy skills. This material is introduced through a series of Key Experiences provided in the corresponding manual Language Arts Volume 4 Elementary Level I. Word Study Set #3 is stored in a storage solution and is available to children during their entire career in the elementary classroom. It is revisited each year between ages 6-9 and used in parallel to Set #1 and Set #2. Most of the material is practiced by children independently as the Key Experiences are introduced. The material consists of 1100+ cards with 60 activities.
