Description
This material is part of the Montessori geography curriculum for the elementary level. Children in the elementary level study the formation of volcanoes through a historical and geographical lens. Parts of the Volcano are also introduced in geology in the context of igneous activities. It includes the following parts: the volcano, the magma, the magma chamber, the central conduit, the central vent, the side conduits, the side vent, the eruption, the gas, the rock fragments, the volcanic dust, and the volcanic ash, the volcanic bombs, the lava, the lava layers, the tephra layers, and the composite volcano. This material consists of 17 sets of three-part nomenclature cards that contain a description, a label, and a picture card for matching purposes. There are two wallcharts representing all the parts together. The two booklets serve as control for error for the nomenclature matching work.
