Description
This is the complete set for our staple Montessori language arts material for the elementary level. Children survey an array of label cards that provide experience with building compound words and those with prefixes and suffixes. Developing morphological awareness prepares children to become better readers and writers. Children who explicitly learn to identify and manipulate the smallest parts of a word are invited to use higher cognitive functions, which will enhance their literacy skills. This material is introduced through a series of Key Experiences provided in our Elementary Language Arts manuals. Word Study is available to children during their entire career in the elementary classroom. It is revisited each year between ages 6-9. Most of the material is practiced by children independently as the Key Experiences are introduced. The material consists of 5000+ cards with 240 activities.
